What is UCM RemoteConnect?
UCM RemoteConnect is the ideal platform for any organization looking to securely support remote workers. It provides a plug & play connection to remote phones and WAVE apps to ensure secure usability by remote users.
How it works
- Grandstream IP phones are placed at remote locations or home offices
- UCM RemoteConnect opens a secure connection between the office PBX and the remote phones
- No port forwarding or static IP is required
- External calls placed to/from the remote phones are sent over call paths installed in the PBX (this can be analog CO lines, SIP trunks, or T1/PRI)
- Each external call placed to/from a remote phone uses one PBX call path while the call is active
- Internal calls (from coworkers) placed to/from the remote phones do not use a PBX call path
- The total max concurrent remote calls are a combination of internal and external calls
Important
UCM RemoteConnect is not a standalone calling solution. It is dependent on the Grandstream PBX being up and running. If the PBX is down, all remote phones and apps, connected through RemoteConnect, will also be down.
If this is not ideal for your business, then a Cloud-Based PBX like NEC Univerge Blue Connect may be a better fit.
