NEC DSX IntraMail is a sophisticated voicemail solution that was revolutionary for its time. Prior to IntraMail, voicemail required expensive external hardware, but IntraMail is a 100% plug & play add-on that provides powerful voicemail features to the NEC DSX.

IntraMail PRO voicemail features

Because the NEC DSX has been discontinued, here are some alternate voicemail solutions that we recommend.
The following voicemail alternatives are not compatible with the NEC DSX and would require a full phone system upgrade.
NEC SL2100 InMail voicemail
When it comes to voicemail, the NEC SL2100 phone system would make for an almost seamless transition when upgrading from the NEC DSX.
The SL2100's InMail includes all of the same familiar features as the NEC DSX IntraMail, and it's built directly into the phone system! So, no additional purchase would be necessary – every NEC SL2100 comes with a built-in 4-port voicemail with 2 hours of voicemail storage!
NEC SL2100 Vmail to Email Notification License
Just like on the DSX, you can add voicemail to email functionality. The NEC SL2100 Vmail to Email notification license sends notifications of voicemail messages directly to your email inbox. A .WAV audio file of the voicemail recording will be attached. Notifications of missed voicemails can also be sent to users via SMS text messages.

Grandstream UCM6300 voicemail
Grandstream voicemail is a centralized service, built into all UCM6300 phone system models. When a user is busy or not available, the caller will listen to a prompt message that contains instructions to leave a voice message to the callee so that they can check it later when available again. The voicemail system also notifies users about new voicemails received to their box and they can access it via their extensions using feature codes.
Voicemail to email comes built-in
Unlike the NEC SL2100, the Grandstream UCM6300 phone system has voicemail to email built-in, with no additional licensing required.
